While not every achievement rivals becoming the RIAA’s biggest digital act ever, it sure seems like Taylor Swift is accomplishing something on a daily basis.
Monday’s achievement comes courtesy her new single “Style,” which enters the top 20 on Mediabase’s rolling pop radio airplay chart.
It will have to wait until next Sunday’s published chart to officially call itself a top twenty hit (at least as far as Mediabase goes), but it does now represent one of pop radio’s twenty most-played songs. The track’s spin count of 4,701 during the week between January 19 and 25 was the pop format’s 20th-largest.
“Style” is not gaining airplay as rapidly as Maroon 5’s “Sugar,” which holds the #23 position on the latest rolling pop chart, but it is still moving aggressively. And that aggressive movement is, technically, coming two weeks before the song officially impacts radio (the majority of monitored pop stations have, however, already added the song).
— Expected to make waves at multiple formats, “Style” is already up to #22 on the rolling hot adult contemporary radio chart.
