Ratings: “American Horror Story” Viewership Rises Slightly

There is no denying that “American Horror Story” has cooled off over the progression of its “Freak Show” season, but FX’s horror anthology series at least managed to avoid an additional viewership decline this week.

While it was down slightly in adults 18-49 (from a 1.50 to a 1.46), it improved upon the previous airing’s viewership mark. This Wednesday’s edition attracted 3.11 million viewers, which bested the 2.99 million average achieved by the December 17 predecessor.

Despite its unfavorable comparison to the corresponding “Coven” episode (1.8 rating, 3.49 million viewers), this week’s “Freak Show” again ranked as cable’s top program in adults 18-49.

Wednesday’s edition of “Freak Show” featured a guest turn by Neil Patrick Harris.
