Ratings: “The Sing-Off Holiday Special” Performs Modestly

Presented as a one-night “Holiday Special,” the latest edition of NBC’s “The Sing-Off” competition performed modestly in the ratings.

Per fast national data, Wednesday’s two-hour special drew a 1.3 adults 18-49 rating with 5.06 million viewers.

Unspectacular in any circumstance, the performance lands further on the side of disappointment due to the fact that it lost viewers as it progressed. After opening with a 1.4 and 5.43 million viewers in the 9PM hour, the broadcast slipped to a 1.2 with 4.67 million in the 10-11PM segment.

Last year’s fourth season “The Sing-Off” finale drew a 1.4 rating with 5.32 million viewers on December 23, 2013. The December 18, 2013 episode, which aired a year prior to this week’s Holiday Special, drew a 1.6 with 5.49 million.

The Vanderbilt Melodores won this year’s competition.

— Earlier in the night, NBC aired the latest “Michael Buble’s Christmas.” It drew a 1.3 with 7.43 million viewers to rank as the most-watched edition yet. Last year’s special, which faced ABC’s annual edition of “Barbara Walters’ 10 Most Fascinating People,” drew the same 1.3 adults 18-49 rating but only 5.03 million viewers.
