Taylor Swift’s chart dominance, which emerged on this week’s Billboard 200 album sales chart and Billboard Digital Songs single sales chart, extends to the Hot 100.
After eight weeks in the runner-up position, Swift’s “Shake it Off” returns to the Hot 100’s #1 spot. The song, which was the lead single from Swift’s 1.287 million-selling “1989,” spent two weeks at #1 prior to the ascent of Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass.”
Swift also has another song in the upper 20% of Billboard’s all-encompassing Hot 100. “Blank Space,” which leads on the weekly Digital Songs chart, starts at #18.
(Other “1989” tracks on the Hot 100 include “Style” (60), “Wildest Dreams” (76) and “Bad Blood” (80))
“Bass” slips to #2 this week, while Tove Lo’s “Habits (Stay High)” holds the #3 position. Maroon 5’s “Animals” rises to #4, which sends Jessie J + Ariana Grande + Nicki Minaj’s “Bang Bang” down to #5.
Other top ten songs: Iggy Azalea’s “Black Widow (featuring Rita Ora)” (#6), Jeremih’s “Don’t Tell ‘Em (featuring YG)” (#7), Bobby Shmurda’s “Hot Boy” (#8), Ed Sheeran’s “Don’t” (#9) and Hozier’s “Take Me to Church” (#10).
