Hot 100: Meghan Trainor Rises to #2, Charli XCX Returns to Top 10

After being temporarily displaced by Nicki Minaj’s “Anaconda,” Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass” returns to its peak position on the Billboard Hot 100.

The song, which again reigns as Billboard’s top airplay gainer, reclaims the runner-up position after a week at #3. Only Taylor Swift’s “Shake it Off,” which spends a second week at #1, claims a better position on Billboard’s all-encompassing chart.

Still a hot sales and streaming performer, Minaj’s “Anaconda” slides one spot to #3. Minaj also appears at #4 as part of the “Bang Bang” collaboration. The song, which also credits Jessie J and Ariana Grande as lead artists, rises on the strength of a post-VMA sales bump and the launch of its music video.

Sam Smith’s “Stay with Me” claims #5.

Other songs in the top ten include Iggy Azalea’s “Black Widow (featuring Rita Ora)” (#6, =), Ariana Grande’s “Break Free (featuring Zedd)” (#7, =), MAGIC!’s “Rude” (#8, -3), Sia’s “Chandelier” (#9, -1) and Charli XCX’s “Boom Clap” (#10, +2).

The lattermost song returns to the top ten after two weeks in the tweens.
