While its ratings are nothing about which to write home on paper, they are evidently enough to warrant continued interest from Sundance.
The network officially decided to renew critically acclaimed, but low-rated “Rectify” for a third season.
“Rectify has evolved into a show much loved by critics and fans,” said SundanceTV’s Sarah Barnett. “As SundanceTV’s first scripted series, it’s gratifying to see such distinctive and unusual storytelling embraced with such passion.”
While no episode count has been revealed, Deadline says the order is reportedly for six episodes. Even with the order for the show’s first season, the count trails that of the show’s current second season by four.
“Rectify” airs its second season finale this Thursuday.
