Nicki Minaj’s “Anaconda” is now just one spot away from the Top 40 on Mediabase’s rolling pop radio airplay chart.
With 976 spins over the seven day period ending August 10, “Anaconda” ranked as the pop format’s 41st-most-played song. As long as it continues to gain steam — and, insofar as it officially impacts pop this week, there is no reason to believe it will not — it should be able to quickly leapfrog Fifth Harmony’s #40 “Bo$$.”
That song garnered 113 extra spins over the aforementioned seven day frame.
From an audience perspective, “Anaconda” is already one of pop’s Top 40 songs. Its impression count of 8.86 million ranked as pop’s 31st-largest within the measured window. Assuming Billboard’s data is roughly on par, “Anaconda” should debut within the Top 40 of this week’s audience-driven Billboard Pop Songs chart.
From an airplay standpoint, “Anaconda” is already within the Top 30 at rhythmic. Its 866 spins represented the format’s 29th-largest count between August 4 and 10.
