Cast, Creator Confirm NBC Renewed “Undateable”

NBC has yet to issue a statement, but the word from three prominent members of the “Undateable” team is that the summer comedy has been renewed for a second season.

“Here to report – Undateable season 2 is a GO. Operation: Chris buys a spaceship is coming to fruition,” Tweeted star Chris D’Elia Thursday night.

Co-star Brent Morin added, “Season 2? The answers (sic) yes,” while creator Bill Lawrence confirmed he was “overexcited” to do a second season of “Undateable” for NBC.

He signed his Tweet with the hashtag “#pickedup.”

A modest ratings performer, “Undateable” benefited from its relative ratings stability and the reduced performance standards associated with summer series.

High marks for the creative direction–and casting–also worked in favor of NBC’s latest stab at a multi-camera sitcom.

The season two pickup is reportedly for ten episodes.
