When your song enters the top 40 before officially going for adds at a given radio format, things bode well for the song’s official impact.
Sure enough, The Script’s new “Superheroes,” which debuted at #37 on this week’s official Mediabase Hot Adult Contemporary airplay chart, entered the fray as the format’s most-added song.
“Superheroes” landed at an impressive 25 stations in conjunction with its official Hot AC impact this week. That warm welcome will assure it continues to rocket up the format’s airplay chart.
Colbie Caillat’s “Try,” which garnered buzz alongside Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass” as part of a new empowerment trend in popular music, was the week’s second-most-added with 14 pickups. Ed Sheeran’s “Don’t” tied that mark, while Charli XCX’s “Boom Clap” and Mary Lambert’s “Secrets” followed with 12 adds each.
Other notable performers included Echosmith’s Top 20 hit “Cool Kids” (11 adds), Disclosure’s “Latch (featuring Sam Smith)” (8 adds), Meghan Trainor’s “All About that Bass” (8 adds), MKTO’s “Classic” (8 adds), Demi Lovato’s “Really Don’t Care (featuring Cher Lloyd)” (7 adds) and Florida Georgia Line’s “This is How We Roll (remix featuring Jason DeRulo)” (7 adds).
