Sia’s “Chandelier” Hits Top 10 on iTunes, #20 on Hot 100

While the music video has been impossible to avoid, the success of Sia’s single “Chandelier” has been easy to overlook.

A a steady but gradual gainer in most media–save for YouTube, where its video has amassed more than 50 million views–“Chandelier” has managed to keep the bulk of its chart run under the radar.

That will doubtfully remain the case.

Earlier this week, “Chandelier” officially cracked the Top 20 on Billboard’s definitive Hot 100 chart. Her first solo release to ever on chart on the Hot 100, it trails Flo Rida’s #5-peaking “Wild Ones (featuring Sia)” and David Guetta’s #7-peaking “Titanium (featuring Sia)” as her third most successful chart appearance to date.

And, as of this weekend, it is officially in the Top 10 on the iTunes Overall Single Sales chart. While retaining its #10 position will not be a walk in the park, if it can successfully do so, it stands to benefit greatly. In addition to the honor, a position in the the iTunes Top 10 chart also comes with the benefit of appearing on the store’s home page. That exposure drives awareness, which can then drive additional interest in the song.

“Chandelier” is currently #23 on Mediabase’s rolling pop radio airplay chart.
