Clean Bandit’s “Rather Be” Goes Top 40 on US Pop Radio

One of the year’s biggest international hits is finally making its presence felt in the United States.

Earlier this week, Clean Bandit’s “Rather Be (featuring Jess Glynne),” that international smash, scored adds from influential pop radio stations KIIS, Z100 and 92.3AMP. It also made its debut at #97 on the Billboard Hot 100.

And as of Saturday, it is now in the Top 40 at pop radio.

According to Mediabase’s rolling airplay chart, “Rather Be” was the pop format’s 40th-most-played song for the seven days ending June 20. Over that period, it garnered 931 spins and 5.13 million audience impressions.

San Francisco’s 99.7 NOW and New York’s 92.3 AMP have been format leaders; collectively, the two have provided 1.51 million of the song’s total impressions.

While “Rather Be” does not have a clear path to imminently ascend much higher on the chart, the rising fan interest and support from major market radio stations could facilitate an impressive rise as the summer progresses.
