Maroon 5’s New Song “Maps” Rockets Into Top 40 at Pop

Extensive release day airplay helped Maroon 5’s new single “Maps” rocket into the Top 40 at pop radio.

According to Mediabase, the song scored 1312 opening day spins Monday to rank as the #36 song for the entire week ending June 16. It scored an estimated 13.66 million audience impressions.

Despite the buzz and heavy airplay, the song interestingly did not immediately reach #1 on iTunes. As of press time, it was #9 on the e-tailer’s overall single sales chart. 5 Seconds of Summers’ new “Kiss Me Kiss Me” and Ed Sheeran’s pair of new releases “Bloodstream” and “Afire Love” were all selling at a significantly faster rate Tuesday.
