Fueled by the country format’s second-largest airplay gain, Rascal Flatts’ “Rewind” hits #1 on the latest Mediabase rolling airplay chart.
The song, which was #4 during the previous period, rockets to #1 for the seven days ending May 16. Its audience of 57.12 million also ranks as the largest for country radio.
“Rewind” seizes the throne from Thomas Rhett’s “Get Me Some of That,” which slides to #3. Florida Georgia Line’s “This is How We Roll (featuring Luke Bryan)” stays at #2.
While “Rewind'”s jump to number one warrants the greatest celebration, it was not the week’s biggest jump. That honor instead belongs to Brantley Gilbert’s “Small Town Throwdown (featuring Justin Moore and Thomas Rhett),” which arrives at #38. The brand new song, which has commanded 975 spins this week, was credited with only 1 for the previous seven day period.
