Pegged as an obvious hit, Sam Smith’s “Stay With Me” lived up to expectations by ranking as the week’s most-added track at Top 40 radio.
Mediabase reports that the song, which is already a solid performer on iTunes, scored 67 adds conjunction with its official impact at pop radio. Influential stations like Los Angeles’ KIIS and New York’s Z100 were among those to welcome the song to their rotations.
After reigning as the format’s most-added track for two consecutive weeks, Ariana Grande’s “Problem (featuring Iggy Azalea)” scored another impressive round of adds. While it was forced to settle for second-most-added this week, its count of 49 stations is nothing at which to sneeze.
Calvin Harris’ rapidly rising “Summer” (29 adds), MAGIC!’s “Rude” (21 adds) Jason DeRulo’s “Wiggle (featuring Snoop Dogg)” (20 adds) were the third-, fourth- and fifth-most-added tracks, respectively.
Becky G’s “Shower” and Lorde’s “Tennis Court” shared the week’s sixth-place spot with 14 adds each, while One Direction’s “You & I” and Trey Songz’ “Na Na” each received 13 new pickups.
Neon Trees’ “Sleeping with a Friend” and Shakira’s “Empire,” each with twelve adds, tied to wrap up the list of ten most-added tracks.
Notables from farther down Mediabase’s weekly Top 40 add report:
