The photographer whom Rihanna compared to the Nazis has made an enemy in singer-songwriter Lorde, who called him out for stalking in a Twitter stream Saturday.
“This man has been stalking me, photographing me and refusing me privacy. i am scared of him. he frequents central akl (Auckland Central),” wrote Lorde of paparazzo Simon Runting, whose picture she attached to the Tweet.
The “Royals” added, “I refuse to stay complicit and i refuse to stay passive about men systematically subjecting me to extreme fear.”
In addition to sharing a link to his Facebook, Lorde also referenced his infamous photos of Rihanna on the balcony of her hotel room in Auckland, New Zealand.
At the time of the photos’ release, Rihanna alluded to Kanye West’s “Flashing Lights” in commenting, “I hate these niggaz more than the Nazi.”
Aware that some will criticize Lorde’s stance as inconsistent with the reality of being a celebrity, the teen singer-songwriter explained, “i understand that this comes with the territory. i do not understand why I should be complacent.”
