“SNL” Ratings Remain Weak for Anna Kendrick Episode

She provided a slight bump in the adults 18-49 rating, but Anna Kendrick was not the fuel “Saturday Night Live” needed to return to a ratings high point.

Saturday’s “SNL,” which featured Kendrick as host and Pharrell Williams as musical guest, settled for a 2.2 adults 18-49 rating in the 25 markets with local people meters. It drew a 4.0 overnight household rating.

While the adults 18-49 number is up a tenth from that of last week’s episode, which was hosted by Louis CK with musical guest Sam Smith, the disappointing household number is steady.

This week’s soft rating represents the third consecutive underwhelming performance. All three episodes–the Lena Dunham, Louis CK and Kendrick episodes–delivered household and adults 18-49 ratings in the bottom five of this season’s seventeen (to date) offerings.

“SNL” returns next week with host Seth Rogen and musical guest Ed Sheeran.
