NBC’s “The Voice” Drives “Sean Saves the World” To Ratings High

NBC might want to consider airing more “The Voice” episodes on Thursdays.

While the reality competition itself underperformed with a 2.7 adults 18-49 rating and 10.23 million viewers, it greatly outdelivered any recent comedy effort in the timeslot.

Instrumental in giving NBC a second place finish at 8PM, the sizable “Voice” audience also afforded fledgling new comedy “Sean Saves the World” its best lead-in to date.

As a result, “Sean” delivered a series high 1.7 adults 18-49 rating with 5.58 million viewers. Paltry in comparison to the performances NBC’s comedies used to routinely deliver on Thursday, the rating marked a 55% increase over the previous “Sean” performance.

With its increased lead-in, 9:30PM comedy “The Michael J Fox Show” also made gains. It grew by 18% in the demo and 27% in total viewers to score a 1.3 rating with 4.24 million.

“Parenthood,” which closed out NBC’s evening, was up 25% to a 1.5 rating. It averaged 4.53 million viewers.
