Lorde’s “Royals” Stays Atop Hot 100, “The Fox” Moves Up

Either staying put or gaining on all chart metrics, Lorde’s smash hit “Royals” claims a second consecutive week atop the Hot 100.

Number one for digital sales, number two for airplay and number three for streaming, “Royals”‘ monstrous week helped it create more distance between itself and Katy Perry’s “Roar,” which again lands at number two on the Hot 100.

While their chart point separation was less than 1% last week, Billboard notes that “Royals” led the Katy Perry track by 19% on this week’s chart.

Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball,” which is still gaining radio traction, again settled for third place, besting Avicii’s smash “Wake Me Up.” Drake’s “Hold On, We’re Going Home” slipped a position to number five.

Fueled by strong streaming and digital performances, Ylvis’ novelty “The Fox” ascended to number six. Jay-Z’s “Holy Grail” dropped to seventh, while Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines,” though descending, was still strong enough for eighth.

Lady Gaga’s “Applause” and Lana Del Rey and Cedric Gervais’ “Summertime Sadness” finished ninth and tenth, respectively.
