Though WWE attributed Alberto Del Rio’s conspicuous black eye and bruises to in-ring action, F4WOnline.com reports that the visible wounds were actually the result of a real-life fight.
Details are sketchy, but according to the report, Del Rio, Drew McIntyre and others were involved in some sort of fight during Summerslam weekend.
“Both were all beaten up when they showed up back at the hotel,” wrote F4W’s Dave Meltzer.
With the consequences of the fight so visible to anyone watching his Summerslam bout with Christian, WWE was forced to provide an alternative explanation.
