“Glee” Reportedly to Explain Finn’s Absence as Cory Monteith Heads to Rehab

The April Fools Day news cycle began with a story that is unfortunately legitimate–“Glee” star Cory Monteith has checked into rehab for substance addiction issues.

Monteith, who had done a stint in rehab more than a decade ago, “voluntarily” checked himself into the facility, according to a representative.

Girlfriend and “Glee” co-star Lea Michele noted, “I love and support Cory and will stand by him through this. I am grateful and proud he made this decision,” while 20th Century FOX Television added, “Cory is a beloved member of the Glee family and we fully support his decision to seek treatment…Everyone at the show wishes him well and looks forward to his return.”

Filming is still required on two fourth season episodes, and according to Deadline, the absence of Monteith’s character Finn will be explained.
