The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reiterated its report that Randy Orton’s recent Wellness Policy violation, his second “strike,” was due to a failure for elevated testosterone.
Orton reportedly told friends that the failure was due to a tainted supplement, but in the interest of preventing a slippery slope, WWE does not customarily excuse failures for that reason.
Regarding the strange rumor that Orton would not be brought back after his suspension, there is seemingly nothing to that. Orton is wholly expected to return after his suspension ends later this summer, and there should be no long-term impact on his roster status.
Though sources say WWE has begun recognizing CM Punk as the clear number two star beyond John Cena, Orton is still a main-event-level talent on a roster that is rather thin.
