Though WWE RAW posted viewership increases this week, the news was not all rosy for WWE.
On the positive front, the post-Summerslam edition of RAW rose to a 3.3 cable coverage rating with a 1.8 in the adults 18-49 demo. Total viewership clocked in at just over 5 million.
Negative, however, was the trend throughout the episode. WWE typically likes to see ratings growth over the course of the two-plus-hour episode, but this week’s show actually lost a few hundred thousand viewers from start to finish.
Hour one posted a 1.9 adults 18-49 rating with 5.25 million viewers, two figures that are very solid for the 9PM hour. The second portion of the show, however, only mustered a 1.8 rating with 4.86 million viewers.
The trend suggests that interest in the Summerslam fallout prompted curiosity viewership at the show’s onset but that the show did not offer enough excitement to keep viewers hooked until the end.
Notable will be the quarter hour ratings for the CM Punk-Kevin Nash segment and the Rey Mysterio-Alberto Del Rio match.
