Miami’s American Airlines Arena confirmed this weekend that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will return to the city for RAW on May 2, 2011 as he plans to celebrate his birthday with the live crowd.
That promoted birthday celebration, which slates Rock’s next RAW appearance for just a month after he last starred on the show to build a WrestleMania 28 match with John Cena, did not, however, only resonate with the WWE audience.
TNA’s Mick Foley teased getting involved in his former coworker’s birthday celebration.
“Is @therock really having a birthday party on Raw? Maybe they’ll show a clip of th pardookie I threw him in ’99. Think Yurple will show up,” Tweeted Foley after learning of The Rock’s booking. This prompted fans to send messages to the wrestling veteran expressing their interest in seeing a Foley appearance on RAW.
He then teased he would ask TNA for permission to make the fans’ wish come true.
“Guess it couldn’t hurt to ask for a one day furlough from TNA to help @therock celebrate.”
