In a fairly-ambiguous update, F4WOnline.com reported Thursday that some serious backstage heat emerged over how WWE creatively-approached the booking of the main-event program with The Rock, John Cena and The Miz.
The exact details on what frustrated key names are unclear, but the angle has come under very public, very notable critical-panning for how it was handled. Among the concerns that critics have raised are the “let-down” booking of the actual WrestleMania main-event, the fact that John Cena’s RAW promo de-valued the title by expressing virtually no frustration over the fact that The Miz retained the belt, and the fact that WWE told a RAW crowd that was hot for a Cena-Rock frustration that it would have to wait a year for their match to take place in a different city. Having Rock and Cena shake hands a year before their match and having the two bury The Corre also came under fire from some analysts.
The story implied that Cena, himself, was upset–not with the RAW promo given that he likely had a hand in its scripting but with ow the angle played out at large.
Also in the story was a claim that John Cena, though fine with the boos publicly, was said to be privately taken aback by the extremely negative crowd reaction he received in Atlanta over WrestleMania weekend. Though Cena is used to dealing with mixed crowd reactions, this reaction was particularly intense–the negativity was so strong, in fact, that The Rock’s effort to put over Cena on RAW seemed to, if anything, make the crowd turn on The Rock.
good article
wwe did a brilliant job of cohesively let these two superstars stay relevant by having them fight together. it was a great move. theres room for both cena and the rock. they would make a great tag team if they liked each other. now they can do there thing until wrestlemania! long live the great one!
The crowd didn’t turn on the rock, are you retarded. The attitude era fans that have been cheering the rock for the past month think he can do no wrong. Whatever the rock touches turns to gold. If the rock insults you, you’re made in the world of wwe! Thats how influential he is. And if hes the “heel” in this fued, 75% of the crowd will still cheer for him, NOT john cena!!
