This week has proved negative for high-profile celebrity relationships, with two well-known, attractive couples calling it quits.
Following news that “High School Musical” stars Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron have mutually broken up comes a report that Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson will be ending their marriage of two years.
“After long and careful consideration on both our parts, we’ve decided to end our marriage,” said the couple in a statement to PEOPLE Magazine. “We entered our relationship with love and it’s with love and kindness we leave it. While privacy isn’t expected, it’s certainly appreciated.”
According to the People report, a source says the split was initiated by Johansson. Reports of a breakup date back several months, although the couple had been spotted together since. This, regardless, represents the first public confirmation of the breakup.
