In one of several press releases issued Thursday, NBC confirmed that the premiere of new fall comedy “Love Bites” has been delayed in favor of a new season of “The Apprentice.”
“Love Bites,” NBC’s heavily-hyped new romantic comedy anthology series, had been hit hard in recent weeks. After news broke that co-star Jordana Spiro was leaving the show due to her commitment to TBS’ “My Boys,” a report came in that Cindy Chupack asked to leave as showrunner. Further, since star Becki Newton is pregnant in real life, Variety reports that her character had to be revised–in the pilot, Newton’s character is a virgin.
The updated take on “The Apprentice,” which features sixteen contestants that were “hit hard” by the economy, will air for thirteen weeks, although it is not a lock that “Love Bites” will hit the air immediately after the Donald Trump reality series wraps its run.
“The new season of “The Apprentice” — which just finished shooting this week in New York City — promises to be an engaging and fresh look at the changing face of corporate America. It will showcase what has turned out to be an incredible cast of candidates, all vying to become “The Apprentice” and all deserving of a fresh start to their careers,” wrote NBC about the new season.
