While insiders maintain that TNA is not seriously reaching out to Paul Heyman, the company does hope it can convince Jim Ross to join the organization.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that TNA has been sending feelers out to Ross about coming in as a “real life general manager” that would run the show behind the scenes while also participating on camera.
Sources, however, are not confident that any sort of deal will be reached, and many still believe Ross will commit to WWE in a long-term capacity.
There is also a specific concern regarding how well Ross would mesh with Eric Bischoff backstage. While the two have reportedly settled whatever past differences they have, they still possess different wrestling philosophies that would clash if both tried to influence the company’s decisions.
