Glee’s “Power of Madonna” episode–its best-reviewed and most eagerly-anticipated segment to date–aired Tuesday, and as a testament to how successfully it dialed viewers into the dialogue, two random bits from the show sparked the most significant search engine interest.
As of 12AM EST Wednesday, “florence henderson” was the third most-searched term on Google. Florence Henderson, the actress best known as Carol Brady from classic sitcom “The Brady Bunch,” was referenced during Will’s tearing down of Sue Sylvester’s hairstyle–much to her humiliation, he likened the bitter, obnoxious cheerleading coach to Henderson.
Also tracking well is “misogynist.” In addition to the fact that the male characters’ misogynistic treatment of the women was the focal point of the episode, the line itself was a point of direct comedy when airhead Cheerio/New Directions member Brittany mistakenly declared that she visited a ‘misogynist’ when she pulled her hamstring.
Certain to be an episode on the minds of Emmy voters this fall, the “Power of Madonna” episode should have more than made up for fans who were underwhelmed by last week’s spring season premiere. Headline Planet’s pre-air review, which was published last week, breaks down last week’s premiere, this week’s episode and next week’s tear-jerking “Home.”
That Florence is a live wire ;P
I actually googled flowbee. I did not know it was a hair vacuum. I also googled Florence Henderson. I did not google misogynist as I knew what that was. 😉
