UFC President Downplays Possible Tito Ortiz, Mark Coleman Fight

After suffering a one-sided loss to Randy Couture at UFC 109, Mark Coleman’s attention almost immediately shifted to Tito Ortiz. Ortiz taunted Coleman from outside the cage, reportedly with “payback’s a b*tch,” and Coleman cut a promo on the “douchebag” former champion claiming he was willing to fight him at any time.

The assumption was that Coleman took advantage of an opportunity to create a future main card fight and that said bout would be on the books following the Ortiz-Chuck Liddell “Ultimate Fighter” duel, especially if Ortiz lost.

According to UFC President Dana White, however, that battle is not in the plans.

“Tito is a lot younger than him, and Tito’s talking sh*t to Coleman after Coleman just lost the fight that he’s wanted his whole life,” said White to the press after UFC 109. “Tito’s fighting Chuck. I’m not even thinking about Tito-Coleman.”

White, in fact, said that Coleman’s loss to Couture could very easily serve as his final fight in the organization.
