Past “The Ultimate Fighter” winner Amir Sadollah had not been wildly successful since joining the UFC roster, but he stood to make a name for himself at UFC 106.
Sadollah opened the pay-per-view portion of the show against veteran Phil Baroni, who was making a buzzworthy return to the Octagon. Though not particularly dominant in his most recent fights, the “New York Bad Ass” nonetheless makes for exciting fights and has the power to test any competitor’s chin.

*Story of the fight: The fight played out as most would have expected. Baroni came out throwing bombs, but Sadollah managed the pain and then utilized a diversified striking game to dominate the bulk of the battle. With a successful clinch and a combination of kicks, punches and elbows, Sadollah picked apart a quickly-fatigued Baroni en route to the decision victory.
