— A Thursday report on F4WOnline.com says that WWE’s reaction to the record-setting “Ultimate Fighter” rating for Kimbo Slice vs. Roy Nelson will not be a good one.
According to the report, creative was worried Thursday morning that “sh*t will hit the fan and things will change if TUF beat RAW in the ratings this week.”
Though the exact household rating for TUF has not yet been released, the episode definitely topped RAW’s low 3.1 this week and also showed particular dominance in the young male demographic. It thus appears that whatever was feared is on track to come to fruition.
Industry analysts are quick to note, however, that the victory for TUF is more symbolic than game-changing. RAW struggled up against a highly-rated football game while UFC benefited from a special attraction fight it cannot repeat on a weekly–or even monthly–basis.
— Ice-T and Coco said in a recent interview with Monday Mayhem that WWE contacted them to host an upcoming RAW. Schedules are being worked out, but the two believe a RAW appearance this fall is likely.
