Variety reports that Lionsgate has confirmed a seventh installment in the “Saw” movie series.
Presumably set to open in October 2010, “Saw VII” kicks off production in January. David Hackl, who worked in a production capacity in films two through four and directed number five, returns to helm the seventh. Mark Burg and Oren Koules remain on board as producers, while Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton, who wrote the fourth, fifth and sixth movies, are penning “Saw VII.”
The sixth film in the “Saw” franchise, which has grossed over $700 million worldwide, opens this October.
