Late on the night of April 17, 2016, which marked its first month of availability, it reached an impressive milestone.
It crossed 25 million views.
The impressive figure serves as a testament to the popularity of both the singer-actress and the “Descendants” franchise. Cameron reprises her “Descendants” character for the video, which offers an updated, youthful take on the Christina Aguilera hit (Cameron, interestingly, is slightly older than Aguilera was when she recorded and released the original).
Thanks primarily to streaming generated during its second week of availability, the Dove Cameron version reached #11 on Billboard’s Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart.
