Twenty One Pilots’ “Stressed Out” Pacing For #1 at Alternative Radio

Thanks to “Stressed Out,” twenty one pilots is poised to score its first #1 hit at alternative radio.

The current “Blurryface” single received 1,210 spins during the first three days of the November 1-7 tracking week. Up 12.3% from the previous week’s total, the count positions “Stressed Out” at #1 on Mediabase’s building alternative airplay chart.

Given its current lead and the fact that it is gaining airplay more quickly than its closest competition, it should be able to hold onto its position for the tracking week’s remaining four days. If it does so, it will formally seize the throne from Cold War Kids’ “First” and become twenty one pilots’ first alt radio #1.

The duo’s previous peak came courtesy previous single “Tear In My Heart.” Held off by X Ambassadors’ monstrous “Renegades,” “Tear” was unable to go higher than #2 on the Mediabase chart.
