Clean Bandit’s “Rather Be” Goes Top 20 at Pop, Becky G Gets Close

Still on an explosive rise, Clean Bandit’s “Rather Be (featuring Jess Glynne)” has entered the Top 20 on Mediabase’s rolling Top 40 airplay chart.

The song, which is benefiting from its spotlight in iHeartRadio’s “On the Verge” program, was the pop format’s 19th-most-played song for the seven days ending July 12.

Its count of 4,076 weekly spins represents a week-to-week gain of 1,082. Only MAGIC!’s #3 “Rude” (16,259, +2,153), Ariana Grande’s #32 “Break Free” (2,209, +1,622), Charli XCX’s #15 “Boom Clap” (5731, +1,574) and Sam Smith’s #6 “Stay With Me” (11,624, +1,105) enjoyed larger airplay increases over the trailing seven days.

While Clean Bandit celebrates an entry into the Top 20 on the rolling chart (and one that will surely hold for the official Mediabase published report), Becky G’s “Shower” can start celebrating one that is to be. The song, which continues to gain steam, is #21 on the latest chart thanks to 3,937 spins over the seven days ending July 12.

With Katy Perry’s #18 song “Birthday” free falling–it was down 2,852 spins to just 4,317 this week–the song’s rise to #20 is imminent.
