Vance Joy’s “Riptide” Goes Top 10 at Alt, Starts iTunes Climb

Vance Joy is indeed an artist to watch.

A very popular selection for alternative radio programmers, his breakthrough single “Riptide” officially ascended into the Top 10 on Mediabase’s rolling airplay chart. And insofar as Bears Hands’ #8 “Giants” and Jack White’s #9 “Lazaretto” are both losing steam, the track will soon rise from its #10 position.

The song’s largest exposure is coming from Los Angeles’ Alt 98.7 and Philadelphia’s Radio 104.5. Collectively, the two have generated 897,000 of the song’s estimated 4.837 million alternative radio impressions.

The alternative radio success is also fueling an iTunes climb. As of press time, the song is #88 on the iTunes overall single sales chart.
