MTV Renews “BUCKWILD” For Second Season

Having found stable ground as the top-rated cable original on Thursdays, MTV’s “BUCKWILD” has unsurprisingly earned a second season.

Despite showing no signs of breaking out the way “Jersey Shore” did several years ago, “BUCKWILD” has clearly connected with viewers, and it routinely ranks ahead of “Shore” spin-off “Snooki & JWoww” in the weekly ratings race.

Thursday’s broadcast, which consisted of back-to-back half-hour episodes, averaged a 1.3 adults 18-49 rating with 2.43 million viewers.

The show’s first season wraps Thursday; it is not yet clear when season two will debut.
