CBS Reportedly Renews “How I Met Your Mother” For Ninth Season

This past Monday, “How I Met Your Mother” set one of its key storylines in motion by finalizing featuring Barney’s proposal to Robin.

Unfortunately, some of the other end goals–notably, the moment when Ted meets the titular “Mother”–will remain on the horizon, as CBS has reportedly renewed the show for a ninth season.

Rumors that the show would wrap in its eighth season dated back several years, and they came to a formal boil earlier this year when reports said Jason Segel was not interested in returning.

But according to Deadline, a last-minute deal was struck with all five principal cast members (Segel included), opening the door for the show to return next year.
