In a recent interview, Hulk Hogan claimed that he was initially eyed as a star of the movie “The Wrestler.” That claim is not sitting well with the film’s director Darren Aronofsky.
The critically-acclaimed filmmaker and Harvard alumnus wrote on Twitter, “for the record the role of the wrestler was always @mickeyrourke it was never hulk hogan’s as he claims on @howardstern.”
Though Nicolas Cage was, at one point, under consideration for the part, Rourke was always the targeted leading man. Hogan was not.
