FOX Gives a First Look at New “American Idol” Judges Minaj, Urban, Carey

FOX officially revealed its new “American Idol” judging panel this weekend, confirming speculation that Nicki Minaj, Keith Urban and original cast member Randy Jackson will join previously-confirmed Mariah Carey at the table.

The four will preside over the upcoming twelfth season and will hopefully provide the freshness needed to inject new life into the series. After showing signs of recovering from a ratings slump when Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler joined Randy Jackson in season ten, ratings for season eleven–with that same panel involved–tanked.

FOX issued official publicity photos for the new “Idol” cast on Sunday. Click the thumbnails for a full version.
