Mac Danzig, Joe Stevenson Battle in “TUF” Winners’ Fight; UFC 124 Results

Previous “The Ultimate Fighter” winners Mac Danzig and Joe Stevenson have had their shares of ups and downs since joining the UFC on a regular basis, and their UFC 124: St-Pierre vs. Koshceck battle represented an opportunity to demonstrate true upside.

Going into the fight, the assumption was that Danzig would either need to win or deliver a spectacular performance in losing (or fall victim to a blatant judge “robbery”) in order to remain on UFC’s roster. Though Stevenson would seemingly have more breathing room with a loss, defeat would still equate to a major setback for the second “TUF” winner.

Who came out of UFC 124 victorious? Full results follow:

Round One: Mac Danzig is not going anywhere. Throughout the early portion of the round, Stevenson was finding some range with his hands. His punches were not doing any real damage to Danzig, but he definitely appeared to be controlling the offense.

Then, as Stevenson moved forward with a left hook attempt, Danzig countered with a left to the chin that sent Stevenson face-first into the mat. Danzig dropped down for the follow-up, but Stevenson was clearly done and the referee brought the fight to a finish.
