WWE Books Nexus to Save NXT, Percy Watson, SmackDown! Spoilers

WWE announced Tuesday night that the seven members of Nexus, who got their WWE start on the first season of NXT, will return to the program next week.

As the storyline involving The Nexus has become WWE’s hottest angle, the hope is that the appearance can inject some ratings fire into the series.

— By virtue of winning the “talk the talk” challenge Tuesday, WWE NXT Rookie Percy Watson will receive a talk show segment on next week’s episode.

— SmackDown! spoilers for the week courtesy Jason Barnes of ProWrestling.net:

Drew McIntyre came to the ring. Before he could speak, Teddy Long made his way to the ring. Drew said his citizenship issues are resolved. On his flight home, he realized he has wronged Long and it’s never to late to say I’m sorry. Teddy called him a liar. No more special privileges without Vince McMahon.

McIntyre said he is nominating Teddy for the WWE Hall of Fame. Teddy gets his ring and Drew headlines WrestleMania in Atlanta. Teddy said that could happen if McIntyre wins Money in the Bank. He said McIntyre can get in the match if he gets on his knees and begs.

A video played from three weeks ago when Teddy had to do the exact same thing. The crowd chanted “on your knees.” Drew went to his knees, said Teddy is handsome, high class, and intelligent. He also said it’s an honor and privilege to have Teddy as his boss. However, Teddy still didn’t add him to MIB. Teddy said Drew can get in the MIB if he beats Kofi Kingston tonight.

1. Dolph Ziggler defeated Chavo Guerrero and MVP in a three-way qualifying match for the MIB spot. Vickie Guerrero was on commentary. Five minutes in, Chavo was torn on who to pin. Vickie left the table to confront Chavo. Dolph attacked him from behind. Chavo recovered for Three Amigos on Dolph. Vickie pulled out the ref when MVP was about to pin Chavo. Dolph used the sleeper on MVP to win in 7:57.

An Alberto del Rio vignette was shown. It was similar to last week. Lots of “what” chants.

Rey Mysterio was shown being evaluated by a doctor. Dr. Sampson says there is a ligament tear grade 2 or 3. Mysterio said he is in lots of pain. Swagger barged into the room and put Mysterio in the ankle lock while dragging him down the hall. Swagger slung Rey into concrete wall. He put him back in the ankle lock and dragged him to the arena. Big Show came out and chased him away. Show carried Rey to the back.

2. Vance Archer and Curt Hawkins defeated Christian and Matt Hardy. Hardy reached for a tag and Christian pulled him over the top rope. Christian walked out on Hardy, who was pinned by Archer (I think).

3. Drew McIntyre defeated Kofi Kingston to qualify for the Money in the Bank match. Back forth, lots of near falls. McIntyre exposed the middle turnbuckle and then rammed Kofi into it, almost exposing Kofi’s front jewels for all to see. Finisher and McIntyre is in the MIB at 10:12.

Another Alberto del Rio vignette plays. More “what” chants.

Luke Gallows and C.M. Punk came to the ring. Gallows called out Serena. She came out and said it has been the hardest week of her life. Punk meant everything to her. She did the only thing she is good at doing-making mistakes. She said she did it to save and protect him from Kane.

Serena pleaded for forgiveness. Gallows called her pathetic, and said she is more addicted to attention than booze and she needs to go away and never turn back. Punk said it’s not Gallows decision, it’s his and he forgives her. Gallows left the ring. Serena promised to never disappoint him again. Punk says she better not. They embrace. Gallows looked on from the ramp unapprovingly.

4. “Dashing” Cody Rhodes defeated JTG. Cody has a new entrance video. He actually stops to look in a “mirror”. Cody won with a swinging neck breaker at 2:36.

Kelly Kelly was interviewed backstage. It was announced that she will take on Layla at MIB PPV. Layla interrupted and said only way Kelly can beat her is if she passes out from her smell. Kelly slapped Layla, and McCool came to the rescue. LayCool beat down on Kelly Kelly.

Big Show was interviewed by Josh Matthews. Show said he never felt pain like the ankle lock. He said Rey is suffering right now. Show knows how Rey feels. He is 100 percent now. He said tonight he would put fear in Jack Swagger and makes him suffer.

5. Jack Swagger fought Big Show to a double count out at 2:58. Big Show dominated the match. His chest slaps are really loud live. They fought to the top of the ramp. Swagger knocked down Show and then headed backstage. Kane grabbed Swagger and took him into a red room and accused him of injuring the Undertaker. Swagger denied it and said he has an alibi and will prove it next week. Kane said if there is any doubt, Swagger will be condemned to hell.

This concluded the Smackdown taping.
