M-1 Global Denies Fedor/UFC Report

A representative for the M-1 Global mixed martial arts group told Sports Illustrated that Fedor Emelianenko and UFC have not reached a deal for the fighter’s debut.

The Los Angeles Times said Tuesday that Emelianenko and UFC were in the process of finalizing a deal; one which UFC President Dana White would formally announce at Friday’s scheduled press conference.

“I can give you a guarantee it’s not accurate,” said Apy Echteld of M-1 Global, the promotion and management firm with which Fedor is affiliated.

Fedor was set to participate in a Wednesday press conference with “important” news on his future.
