It may not have received quite as much opening day support as previous single “If I Can’t Have You,” but Shawn Mendes’ new Camila Cabello collaboration “Señorita” still enjoyed a hot start at pop radio.
According to Mediabase, the song had registered 686 pop radio spins by the end of Friday, June 21.
The count slots the new track at #44 on Mediabase’s building chart, which ranks songs based on the first six days of the June 16-22 tracking period.
Whether “Señorita” can move into the Top 40 by the close of the tracking period remains to be seen, but it should have no issue retaining its Top 50 position as the week comes to a close.
“Señorita” follows 2015’s “I Know What You Did Last Summer” as the second collaboration between Mendes and Cabello.
