“Dancing With A Stranger,” the much-discussed, eagerly anticipated collaboration between Sam Smith and Normani, is on the verge of its debut.
The song will launch across digital platforms on Friday, January 11.
According to an official note, Smith wrote the song with Jimmy Napes and Stargate. Normani was in the studio next door as they were putting the track together, and the artists decided to move forward with an official collaboration.
Ahead of the release, both artists offered comments.
“I’m so excited for everyone to hear ‘Dancing With a Stranger,’ which I wrote on The Thrill Of It All tour last year,” says Smith. “For me it bottles everything I was feeling whilst juggling my personal life and touring. It is also such a beautiful moment for me as I’m a huge, huge fan of Normani and everything she is. I’m so excited to watch her light shine. I hope everyone enjoys hearing this song as much as I do.”

Smith recently charted at radio with singles from his sophomore album “The Thrill Of It All.” Normani scored a major pop and rhythmic hit in “Love Lies,” her collaboration with Khalid. Her new single “Waves (featuring 6LACK)” is now receiving airplay at rhythmic radio.
