Ariana Grande’s “God is a woman,” which officially impacted pop radio this Tuesday, is already headed for a Top 30 position on the Mediabase pop radio chart.
The new “Sweetener” single received 1,075 spins during the first four days of the July 22-28 tracking period. Up 267% from the count at this point last week, the tally slots “God is a woman” at #29 on Mediabase’s building chart.
“God is a woman” should have no trouble retaining its position through the close of tracking. Based on its rate of acceleration, it may even improve its ranking before the chart goes final.
And even if it endures a setback, it should still have a good shot at the Top 30. Lauv’s building #12 “I Like Me Better” is set to be removed from this week’s chart due to recurrent rules. Its removal will lift all lower-ranked songs up by one place.
“God is a woman,” therefore, only needs to be #31 on the building chart in order to go Top 30 on the final chart.
Said final chart will be published Sunday. “God is a woman” was below last week’s chart at #41.
