“2002” will be the follow-up to “FRIENDS.”

A Top 3 hit in Anne-Marie’s UK home, “2002” will soon go for adds at US pop radio.

WB Records has set an August 7 impact date for the song, which appears on the artist’s debut album “Speak Your Mind.”

Already receiving airplay from several stations (including Honolulu’s 102.7 Da Bomb and Radio Disney), “2002” will be the follow-up to Anne-Marie’s Marshmello collaboration “FRIENDS.”

That song is currently #2 on the Mediabase pop radio airplay chart. While it is still gaining in spins, it may not have an opportunity to reach #1. Maroon 5’s “Girls Like You (featuring Cardi B)” is poised to take over the #1 spot this week, and insofar as it is gaining airplay at an even faster rate, it will doubtfully cede its throne before “FRIENDS” begins a fall of its own.

Even with a #2 peak, “FRIENDS” still ranks as Anne-Marie’s most successful hit at US pop radio. She previously went to #4 as part of Clean Bandit’s “Rockabye.”
