Last week, BLACKPINK released its new EP “Square Up.”

In conjunction with the release, the focus track “DDU-DU DDU-DU” earns a spot on the Billboard Hot 100.

The song starts at #55 on the listing, which ranks songs from all genres based on sales, streams and radio airplay. Powered by a hit music video and ample support on Spotify, “DDU-DU DDU-DU” generated the lion’s share of its points on the streaming front. It generated enough streams, in fact, for a #39 position on the Streaming Songs subchart.

It also attracted solid opening week sales interest.

“DDU-DU DDU-DU” is the first Hot 100 entry for BLACKPINK. “As If It’s Your Last,” which previously ranked as the group’s top single in the US, peaked at #13 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100.

It is, moreover, the highest-charting hit by a K-pop girl group. Wonder Girls’ “Nobody,” the only other entry from such a group, peaked at #76.
