In the epitome of an unsurprising development, Miley Cyrus’ new single “Malibu” has reached #1 on the US iTunes sales chart.

It seized the throne from Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee’s “Despacito (featuring Justin Bieber),” which had ruled the chart since this past weekend.

“Malibu,” which premiered Thursday at noon, is the lead single from Cyrus’ next studio album. The album will be released later this year.

“Despacito” (#2), DJ Khaled’s “I’m The One (featuring Justin Bieber, Quavo, Chance The Rapper & Lil Wayne)” (#3), Harry Styles’ “Sign Of The Times” (#4), and The Chainsmokers & Coldplay’s “Something Just Like This” (#5) form the balance of the Top 5 as of press time at 4:40PM ET.
