The Voice [NBC]

The season twelve premiere of “The Voice” predictably ranked as Monday’s #1 show in adults 18-49 and total viewership.

According to fast national data posted by Showbuzz, Monday’s episode averaged a 3.1 adults 18-49 rating and 12.99 million total viewers.

Its closest competitor in both columns was ABC’s “The Bachelor,” which averaged a 2.4 rating and 7.70 million viewers in the 8-9PM timeslot.

Based on the preliminary numbers, Monday’s “The Voice” narrowly trailed this past fall’s season 11 premiere (3.3, 12.10 million) in adults 18-49, but gained in total viewers.

It was down in both columns from last spring’s season ten premiere (3.4, 13.33 million).

— “The Voice” led into the premiere of “Taken,” which drew a 1.6 rating and 7.44 million total viewers in the 10PM timeslot. While its retention out of “The Voice” was not fantastic, “Taken” convincingly ranked won its timeslot in adults 18-49 and total viewership.

It was the night’s #3 show overall in both columns, trailing only “The Voice” and “The Bachelor.”
